Default routing choice illogical. Problem with dynamic route adjustments (Add quickest / shortest routing)

The following is for CoPilot Premium UK on Android....

Today I planned a route to an unfamiliar place. No problem with the selected route to get there. When I planned the return journey I noticed both the journey time and distance were longer by about 10%. I thought this odd so I looked at the alternative routes. Sure enough there was an option that was both shorter in distance and time. Why did the software not pick this route in the first place?

Anyway, I picked the route that made more sense. On the way we had an idea and decided to deviate from the planned route and go via a different town, in search of a pub for lunch. CoPilot was not at all happy with this. Instead of simply recalculating a sensible revision to the route it was hell bent on turning me round and getting me back onto the route I had picked to begin with.

I've never known a navigation product to be so stupid. It picks daft routes to begin with and is too stubborn to respond to circumstances. I have noted that if the default route is allowed to be used then the software will replan the route logically following a deviation. That's what I would expect.

When are we going to get the options of "Quickest" route and "Shortest" route reinstated (and ideally "most economical" too), and have the software automatically respond to changes dynamically to continue to re-reroute by quickest/shortest/cheapest route if there is a deviation?

Hi all. I'm marking this 'idea/feature request' as implemented as we added "Quickest" and "Shortest" route options to Premium apps. If you'd like to see a feature listed, please search for it first and if not there, post a new 'idea'. Thanks for the continued feedback and suggestions!
